Is Happiness in achievements & position? | Is happiness at the destination or in the journey? | Happiness in the workplace
Many times, we think we’ll be happy after a particular event occurs (e.x., after passing university, getting job, etc)… Then, we feel we’ll be happy after the next event occurs (e.x., getting a good position, etc)… Hence, our happiness seems to keep getting postponed for some reason or the other, which we all have experienced
The reason is we feel the achievement will give us happiness… Hence we work with full determination towards our goal, perhaps even creating stress worry & anger in the process, thinking we’ll finally get happiness at the end… While we do experience happiness on achieving, it only lasts for a few days, after which we have another goal, hence another round of stress worry etc… Hence our life seems to go more in stress, & less in happiness
Conclusion (Happiness in the workplace)
So today, let’s explore a new belief, that happiness is not just at the destination (i.e., achievement), but it’s also in the journey of life (i.e., every moment!)… Hence, we’re happy even while working towards the goal, & also after achieving the goal, hence effectively happiness 24×7… We’ll explore this idea in detail in this series!
