Spiritual Inspirations from Indian Snacks Recipes | Diwali Snacks imageSpiritual Inspirations from Indian Snacks Recipes | Diwali Snacks

During Diwali, many cook a variety of snacks… Hence today, let’s take some wonderful spiritual inspirations from Indian Snacks!

The beauty of life!

Chivda (& Bhel) is a mixture of numerous ingredients… Similarly, life is a mixture of wonderful experiences!

Wafers are light in weight… Similarly, let’s become very light & relaxed from within!

The puri is very crispy… Hence, let’s be absolutely crisp & clear with our thoughts & beliefs, to be 100% sure of the most elevated destiny!

The love for God!

The chakli (like jalebi) keeps going round… Similarly, let’s keep moving around (i.e., remembering) God!

Sev is broken down into very tiny pieces.. Hence, let’s avoid breaking our heart into small pieces (by having expectations from all, experiencing sorrow, etc)… Instead, let’s keep a full heart by remaining connected with the Ocean of Love God, thereby automatically serving everyone around with a lot of love!

Building beautiful relationships!

Pakoda is liked by all… Similarly, let’s become everyone’s favorite!

Upma (& Poha) are easy to digest… Similarly let’s become such that, everyone feels very comfortable being in our presence!

The kachori (& samosa) is stuffed with spicy masala inside… Hence let’s avoid filling ourselves with aggression & negativity, & become very sweet (like rasgullas & gulab jamuns)!

The magic of Spirituality!

Since snacks contain fats, it’s best to limit their intake… Hence alongwith, let’s increase our diet of listening to pure elevated spiritual knowledge, to remain ever-happy always!

Snacks are accompanied with chutney, which is made by churning coriander in a mixer… Similarly, let’s keep churning spiritual knowledge in our mind, to experience a most delicious (i.e., wonderful) life!

The batter for idli, dosa & dhokla is usually kept for fermentation overnight… Similarly, let’s practise powerful meditation for few minutes every night before sleeping… To experience the most high-quality sleep, thereby wake up very fresh & energetic!

Conclusion (Spiritual Inspirations from Indian Snacks Recipes | Diwali Snacks)

Snacks are made using oil, chickpea flour & spices (& fried on gas)… Hence, in our plain life (like chickpea flour)  let’s mix the spices of virtues & oil of spiritual knowledge… Then, under the fire of God’s love, our life becomes very beautiful & wonderful (like delicious snacks) … Indeed, we also illuminate the lives of everyone around, helping bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

Spiritual Significance of Lights & Lanterns | Diwali Kandil

Spiritual Significance of Lights & Lanterns | Diwali Kandil imageSpiritual Significance of Lights & Lanterns | Diwali Kandil

A walk down the road during Diwali, makes us see lots of varieties of colorful lanterns 🏮… Hence, let’s also fill our life with the colors 🌈 of virtues!

Traditional lanterns simply consisted of a string of neem leaves surrounded by flowers 💐, tied above the door… Hence, denoting health (neem) as well as virtues (i. e., fragrant like flowers!)

The light of knowledge!

It’s only the absence of light, which results in darkness… Hence, let’s remain full of the light of spiritual knowledge, to remain free from the darkness of sorrow & negativity!

In Diwali, even the nights look bright & full of light… Hence, when we’re full of the light of knowledge, we can remain ever-happy even in this dark night of Kaliyuga!

Lanterns are full of light… Hence, let’s become a light-house, which shows the way to all!

Indeed, considering ourselves a point of light (soul) & remembering the Supreme Light… Keeps us full of the light of love & happiness!

The Supreme Light!

While diya represents soul-consciousness (i.e., soul in body, like flame in earthen vessel), the lantern can refer to the ever-shining light God!

Indeed, like the lantern is always tied above, God lives above in the soul world!

And like the lantern is full of different colors, God is full of different virtues!… i.e., He’s the Ocean of Purity, Peace, Love, Happiness & Powers!

Lanterns are made of light-weight paper… Similarly, even God’s remembrance (as per His accurate introduction i.e, He’s an Incorporeal Soul, Ocean of peace love & joy!) makes us feel very light!

Lanterns are designed very beautifully… Similarly, following God’s elevated directions in life, also makes our life beautifully designed i.e., beneficial & accurate at every step!

The convenience!

Today, there’re electric lights available, which turn on with the touch of a button… Similarly, even changing our state of mind requires just the touch of a button… i.e., just need to listen to a good spiritual class on YouTube (or Peace of Mind / Awakening channel!)

Such useful & convenient electric lights are available at minimal cost… Similarly & even better, every program by Brahma Kumaris is conducted absolutely free of charge!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Lights & Lanterns | Diwali Kandil)

Hence today, let’s fill our life with the colors of virtues, to become a lighthouse for all… Further, let’s also connect to the Supreme Light God, which keeps us filled with His divine spiritual energy, making everything easy & also illuminates the lives of everyone around…  Hence, this play of light will help bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

Many traditional lanterns contain a diya inside… Hence, let’s also understand the spiritual significance of diyas!

Many fly Lanterns in the evening on Makar Sankranti (Kite Festival)

Spiritual Significance of Presents | Gifts

Spiritual Significance of Gifts | Presents imageSpiritual Significance of Presents | Gifts

Gifts are an important aspect of numerous festivals (like Diwali, Christmas & Raksha Bandhan)

Hence alongwith physical gifts, let’s give everyone the golden gift of good wishes!

The most wonderful gift!

While choosing physical gifts, we need to ensure it’s liked by the recipient… But when giving good wishes, those vibrations definitely benefit others!

Giving physical gifts has a cost… However, giving good wishes is absolutely free of cost!… Indeed, it’s priceless & uncomparable!

Gifts are tax-free… Hence, giving good wishes requires no extra time or effort i.e., it takes just one second!

Many love giving gifts… Hence, let’s give true love, respect & acceptance to all!

The first beneficiary!

During festivals, there’re many discounts available, helping us save money… Hence, when we create thoughts of good wishes, we become free from other thoughts (waste, negative, etc), hence saving our energy!

Indeed, giving good wishes to others, is actually a gift of positive energy to ourself!

God’s divine gifts!

Gifts come with beautiful wrapping paper… Hence, this wonderful gift of life comes with beautiful layers of good health, wealth, prosperity, skills & talents, etc… Hence, let’s have full gratitude for these!

If one just gets attracted to the wrapping paper & forgets the actual gift, it’s not sensible… Similarly, let’s never forget this invaluable gift of life (i.e, the freedom to think, speak & act the way we want!) God has given us.

God says I’ve also given you the gift of divine intellect… i.e., He’s purified our Intellect, by filling it with spiritual knowledge daily!… Hence now, let’s use it with care to create our most illustrious fortune!

Indeed this Diwali, let’s give ourselves the gift of leaving any one weakness and / or strengthening our specialities!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Presents | Gifts)

Hence today, alongwith physical gifts, let’s:

  1. Give everyone the gift of good wishes
  2. Remember the various gifts God has given us
  3. Give ourself the gift of strengthening our specialities!

Hence, this flurry of gifts will bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

As part of our series on ‘Spiritual Significance of Diwali’

Spiritual Significance of Firecrackers | Fireworks, Crackers, Sparklers

Spiritual Significance of Firecrackers | Fireworks, Crackers, Sparklers imageSpiritual Significance of Firecrackers | Fireworks, Crackers, Sparklers

Firecrackers are burst with a lot of joy & excitement… Hence, denoting the soul’s original virtues of joy & bliss!

The joy of virtues!

Although the rocket is small, it lights up the whole sky… Similarly, let’s become those special few souls, who brighten & color 🌈 the lives of everyone around!

The sparkler (fuljar) is the simplest firecracker, yet shines so beautifully… Hence, simplicity (i.e., keeping our thoughts simple) is where our true beauty lies!

The fountain goes up so high… Similarly, let’s maintain an elevated state of mind always!

The ground roller (jameen chakaddi) keeps moving round & round… Similarly, let’s keep moving around (i.e., remembering) God!

The snake firecracker is like a small point, but when lighted a snake emerges from it… Similarly, it’s the tiny soul which creates thoughts & brings them into action… Hence, let’s empower the mind, to ensure these creations of ours (i.e., our thoughts, words & actions) are always most elevated!

Building beautiful relationships

Even spectators enjoy looking at fireworks… Hence, when we become virtuous, everyone around is also automatically benefitted!

Even very grand firecrackers need to be lit by the simple sparkler… Similarly, even though we may achieve a lot in life, let’s not forget those who’ve acted as the silent backbone for us!… i.e., God, our parents & family, teachers, friends, etc

Best Practices

Firecrackers cause pollution, which harms us as well as others… Hence, let’s avoid polluting our mind with negative information, which creates negative thoughts hence harming us as well as others!

Some firecrackers (like the bomb) make a lot of noise… Hence, let’s avoid disturbing others!

The firecrackers of harsh words!

Firecrackers are expensive… Similarly, speaking harsh words can be quite costly (i.e., can have a significantly negative impact on our life)… Hence, let’s avoid these!

Indeed even if others speak harsh words, let’s learn to accept, to send them much needed vibrations of peace & love!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Firecrackers)

Hence today, let’s make our life a celebration every moment, by filling it with the sparkle of virtues!… This also delights everyone around, inspiring them to become virtuous too, hence bringing the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

Spiritual Significance of Buying New Things | Diwali Shopping imageSpiritual Significance of Buying New Things | Diwali Shopping

On Diwali, we purchase many new things… Similarly, let’s inculcate newness in our every thought, word & action!

Becoming spiritually rich!

Like we purchase new jewellery… Let’s decorate our life with the ornaments of divine virtues… Like:

  • The earrings of not listening to anything negative
  • The necklace of peace, love & joy
  • The bangles of Godly disciplines
  • The ring of God’s love

Also:

Like we purchase new clothes… Let’s adorn a new consciousness:

  • I’m God’s angel, sharing happiness with all
  • I’m a divine soul, constantly giving true love & respect to all!

We buy new perfume… Hence, when we inculcate divine virtues within, those vibrations automatically benefit everyone around!

We also buy gifts for others… Hence, let’s give everyone the gift of good wishes… Since this radiates very good vibrations, hence subtly but significantly benefitting them!

The spiritual gifts!

We buy new utensils… Hence, let’s make our utensil of the Intellect new, pure & divine… By filling it with God’s direct spiritual knowledge!

Some purchase new electrical appliances… Hence, let’s remember this body is also like an appliance, and I’m the energy running it… Which keeps us full of energy (& protected from negative influence) the whole day!

Many purchase new gadgets… Hence, considering our mind & intellect are the greatest gadgets of all… Let’s empower them (through spiritual knowledge & meditation) to remain full of joy, satisfaction, creativity & efficiency!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Buying New Things)

Hence alongwith buying new things, let’s also introduce spiritual newness i.e., newness in our thoughts, words & actions… In other words, let’s make our stage & interactions so full of peace love & joy, that we bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

Spiritual Significance of Sweets | Mithai, Dessert, Confectionary, Indian Sweets, Diwali Sweets

Spiritual Significance of Sweets | Mithai, Dessert, Confectionary, Indian Sweets, Diwali Sweets imageSpiritual Significance of Sweets | Mithai, Dessert, Confectionary, Indian Sweets, Diwali Sweets

Sweets play an important role in many festivals (like Diwali, Christmas, Raksha Bandhan, etc)

These sweets actually denotes the virtue of Sweetness… i.e., sweetness in our thoughts & words!

Sharing sweetness!

During Festivals:

  • We eat sweets… Hence, sweetness makes us the 1st to feel good inside!
  • We distribute sweets… Hence, sweetness is liked by all!
  • We share sweets… Hence, let’s share our sweet attainments through spiritual knowledge & meditation with all!

While those sweets are expensive, speaking sweet words is absolutely free of cost!

Although not everyone can eat sweet (diabetics, obese, etc), everyone can definitely speak sweet!

If we forget putting sugar while creating sweets, it tastes plain… Similarly, life is ordinary, without the virtue of sweetness!

How to become sweet?

Hence, let’s remain connected to God (the Ocean of Sweetness!), to remain full of sweet experiences the whole day!

Our words are automatically sweet… When:

  • Our state of mind is elevated, we’re content
  • We see the virtues & specialities of all
  • Where there’s true respect i.e., we understand others are also right from their perspective

Spiritual Significance of Sweets | Mithai, Indian Sweets, Diwali Sweets image

Sweets are basically a combination of flour ghee & sugar, all baked together… Similarly, any virtue (e.g., sweetness) is basically a combination of spiritual knowledge, meditation & determination to implement!

God says Speak Less, Speak Soft, Speak Sweet… Hence, when we aim to speak less or soft, our words are automatically sweet!

Even the last drop from grinding sugarcane is sweet… Hence, even if challenging situations come, let’s maintain our sweetness, since that’s our original nature!

Spiritual Inspirations from Dry Fruits

Some sweets (e.g. kaju katli, badam pak, anjeer barfi, etc) contain dry fruits… Hence, let’s also take some spiritual inspirations from dry fruits:

  • Like cashewnuts are pure white… Let’s become absolutely pure, clean & peaceful!
  • Like salt in pistachios, let’s flavour (i.e., enhance) the quality of lives of everyone around!
  • Almonds (soaked in water) are good for health.. Similarly, remembering our elevated self-respect points given by God (which are soaked in God’s love!), is very healthy for the mind
  • Walnuts resemble the brain… Hence, let’s keep churning good things (i.e., spiritual knowledge) in our mind, which keeps the brain very healthy!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Sweets)

Hence from today, alongwith eating sweets, let’s also ensure our thoughts & words are full of sweetness… This not only makes us feel very rich & good inside, but also heals the hearts of all… Hence our stage keeps getting elevated, also inspiring others around, hence we’ll together bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

Many sweets are made of milk… Hence let’s also take some spiritual inspirations from milk

Let’s also take some spiritual inspirations from chocolate & ice-cream!

Spiritual Significance of Labh Pancham | Happy Labh Pancham Wishes

Spiritual Significance of Labh Pancham | Happy Labh Pancham Wishes

Traditionally, Labh Pancham marks the end of the Diwali holidays, & work starting again… Hence, it’s believed there’s labh (i.e., benefit) in starting new ventures on this day!

Experiencing labh (i.e., benefit) at every step!

Our thoughts at the start of the venture, influence the entire venture… Hence, let’s create thoughts like:

  • Success is my birthright
  • God is with me
  • I’m bound to succeed

to remain 100% sure of success always!

And success doesn’t necessarily mean situations being as expected… Indeed even becoming experienced, learning new things, etc is a form of progress & success!

And since challenges are bound to come whenever we start anything new, let’s empower our mind in advance (through spiritual knowledge & meditation)… So that situations only result in our benefit, rather than decline!

Indeed, God says every action performed in my accurate remembrance, is bound to give benefit at every step!

Celebrating Diwali spiritually!

Labh Pancham follows the festival of Diwali… Hence, if we truly understand & implement the Spiritual Significance of Diwali (i.e., we’ve used our holidays productively for empowering the mind), our whole life becomes full of benefit!

Indeed, when our state of mind is elevated, our actions automatically benefit us & others around!

The true meaning of Shubh Labh

The words shubh (i.e., auspicious) & labh (i.e., benefit) are usually found together… Hence, when our stage is pure & auspicious (shubh) from within, our actions automatically bring benefit (labh) to us & others around!

Many put the Shubh Labh stickers on their door… Hence, let’s also stick in our mind, the awareness of shubh labh (i.e., when our thoughts are shubh, the result is always labh!), to experience benefit at every step!

Alongwith the Shubh Labh stickers, we also usually find:

  • Footprints of Goddess Lakshmi… Hence becoming pure, divine & virtuous like Goddess Lakshmi!
  • Swastik… Hence, denoting making our swa-sthiti (state of mind) very pure & powerful!
  • Shree Ganesh… Hence when we become an embodiment of wisdom, we become Vighna Vinashak (Destroyer of our Obstacles)

Conclusion (Happy Labh Pancham Wishes)

Hence today, let’s ensure only the most elevated & high-quality thoughts, to experience labh (i.e., benefit) at every step… Indeed, let’s keep our stage so pure & auspicious, that we bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

Spiritual Significance of Diwali House Cleaning

Spiritual Significance of Diwali House Cleaning image - A clean home!Spiritual Significance of Diwali House Cleaning

We clean the house, before invoking Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali… This represents cleaning the mind, to invoke the divinity within!

Cleaning the mind!

Cleanliness is liked by all… Since it’s related to the soul’s original virtue of purity!

The cleaning during Diwali is significant… Similarly this Diwali, let’s clean even the subtle shades of negativity from within us!

If a neighbour’s cleaning his house, we never put their garbage inside our house… Similarly let’s avoid looking at defects & weaknesses of others!

While cleaning, we open many un-touched closets, & remove unwanted things… Similarly, let’s ensure we haven’t held any matters of the past, in any section of our memory!

Spiritual Significance of House Cleaning image - 3D Cartoon Drawing

We use brooms, mops & cleansing agents for cleaning… Hence, let’s use:

  • The broom of spiritual knowledge… To clean the dust of any negative emotions & thoughts (jealousy, hurry, anger, guilt, etc) that may arise!
  • The mop of meditation (with the cleansing agent of God’s remembrance)… To finish all the vices & weaknesses within!
  • Then, the water of silence… To ensure we’re ready for the tasks ahead!

Spiritual Significance of Diwali Cleaning image

The home of the soul!

This body is also our house (i.e., the home of the soul)… Hence, let’s keep it very clean, pure & healthy!

In particular,

  • The eyes are the windows of the soul… Hence, let’s clean these, by only looking at virtues & specialities of all!
  • The ears are the ventilators (i.e., airway passages)… Hence, let’s keep these clean by avoiding listening to gossip, weaknesses of others, etc
  • The mouth is the door… Hence, let’s only speak sweet words, filled with wisdom!

The body is like our temple… Hence, let’s only put pure food cooked in God’s remembrance (i.e., prasad) inside it!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Diwali House Cleaning)

Hence today, let’s clean the mind of all unpleasantness, through the power of spiritual knowledge & meditation… Which automatically emerges the divinity (i.e., the constant experience of peace, love & joy) within, hence very easily bringing the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!
